“The mission of Cherokee Youth Basketball is to provide a safe and competitive learning environment for recreational players of all abilities that develop athletic character, sportsmanship, and teamwork.”

Cherokee Youth Basketball is your local recreational basketball league that is open to all eligible Cherokee County residents (kids in grades K/1st through 12th). This basketball league has over 4,000 players throughout our county playing basketball every season. Through the strategic partnership with the Cherokee County School District, players in grades K-5 are able to represent their current elementary school; players in grades 6-8th grade are able to represent the high school that they will attend, and players in grades 9-12th are required to form their own rosters and register as a team. Each player is given a complete reversible uniform (jersey and shorts), along with an 8 game regular season schedule that will begin the first weekend in December. Sample uniforms are available at the recreation center for players to try on prior to the end of registration (August 1-September 29). Teams are assigned one-week night practice each week and games are played on Friday nights and/or Saturdays (some exceptions may apply).
