Cherokee Recreation and Parks will host its 17th annual 5K Run/Walk on February 11th, 2023 at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, GA. The purpose of the run is to raise money for charity causes selected by both groups, Guns & Hoses. The charity for Cherokee Sheriff’s Office (Guns) is Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities which is dedicated to raising money through events and fundraising to help fulfill the needs of the people of Cherokee County and assist other charitable organizations who support our community. The charity for the Cherokee County Fire Department (Hoses) is the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch which is a non-profit home serving young men in the state foster care system. When registering, the runner selected the team that they wanted to represent and a portion of their fee went towards their chosen charity.

Last Year's Highlights: On February 12th, 2022, we hosted our 16th annual Guns & Hoses 5K at Hobgood Park. The Cherokee County Fire Department (Hoses) has won 11 out of the 15 prior Guns & Hoses races. This year we were happy to announce the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office (Guns) won by the narrowest of margins compared to years in the past, with only 19 runners. Hoses had 281 runners registered while Guns had 300 runners registered. The charity for the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office was Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities, which is dedicated to raising money through events and fundraising to help fulfill the needs of the people of Cherokee County and assist other charitable organizations that support our community. The charity for the Cherokee County Fire Department was The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, which is a non-profit home serving young men in the state foster care system. We are very pleased to say that we will be donating $12 per runner to their chosen charity. In total, Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities will receive $3,600 and The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch will receive $3,372.
